With Session Select, SXSW Sydney organisers are keen for ideas and speakers with the "most relevant, timely, forward-thinking" thoughts.

Cahill joins a growing team that is led by industry veteran Colin Daniels, and includes Bossy Music founder Claire Collins.

Wise Music Australia has appointed Sydney-based Ben Pierpoint as A&R manager for ANZ.

Jaguar Jonze, Flowerkid and RVG are among nine Aussie acts who will showcase at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, next year.

Collins will work across the festival and industry content within the South-by program, which runs across a conference, expo and more.

The iconic South by Southwest (SXSW) conference and festival is expanding out of its spiritual home in Texas to Sydney in 2023.

Each showcase will feature six Aussie acts.

Baker Boy, The Chats, Hachiku, Jaguar Jonze & more will perform for SXSW.

Both events will be held virtually this year.

Music business conference FastForward Sydney is officially on hiatus.
