Sync Watch: Megan Washington covers Powderfinger for Brisbane tourism campaign

Brisbane's bid to get tourists back to the city has ramped up with a domestic tourism campaign.

To convey the appealing attributes of the city, the Brisbane Economic Development Agency, with support from Tourism and Events Queensland. has tapped Megan Washington, who lends her vocals to a cover of Powderfinger's 2000 track, 'My Happiness'.

The commercial also features Washington performing at Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall.

The campaign already ran locally in Brisbane last year, and has now been extended to include Sydney, Melbourne, regional NSW, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Canberra and Hobart. It will run until the end of March across TV, radio and outdoor.

Washington said the cover came together organically and had a "classic Brisbo vibe".

"The lyrics are just so tender, so I loved taking the rock legend energy of the original to a quieter, more reflective place. It makes me think of my family and home," the artist said.
