Radio Ratings: Triple M Brisbane top of the pile

The seventh survey of the year saw some big movers across radio's metro markets.

Sydney: smoothfm is the #1 FM station in Sydney, while Kyle & Jackie O increased their lead on Breakfast.

Melbourne: Fox FM holds a slender lead on Breakfast, as smooth cements its third consecutive #1 overall.

Brisbane: Triple M rose to the top of the pile, with Marto, Robin & The Moonman also taking top spot on Breakfast.

Adelaide: Mix 102.3 is the #1 station for the 20th consecutive survey.

Perth: Nova has overtaken Mix94.5 overall to become the market leader in Perth.

Thousands demand refunds as RnB Fridays Melbourne slammed

As the Sydney and Brisbane legs of RnB Fridays Live approach, punters will be hoping that the experience vastly triumphs that of last weekend’s Melbourne event.

The Melbourne leg of Hit Network’s RnB Fridays Live stadium tour has been slammed by hundreds on social media.

The event took place at Marvel Stadium, featuring such acts as Usher, Salt N Pepa and Lil Jon, but punters weren’t happy with the sound at the venue, nor the long breaks between artists, while some called out the general organisation of the event.

RnB Fridays Live goes to Brisbane this Friday and Sydney on Sunday.

Tumultuous week for 2GB's Alan Jones

2GB Breakfast’s Alan Jones has avoided surgery in his latest health scare and could return to work as early as Monday.

Jones was admitted to St Vincent’s Hospital on Tuesday. He had been suffering from severe back spasms that started during his broadcast of the Melbourne Cup.

At the start of the week, it was revealed that Macquarie Media has disciplined Jones following a series of incidents involving the veteran announcer throughout 2018.
