Women dominate the 2019 APRA Award Winners list
The APRA Awards returned to Melbourne to pay homage to the people behind Australia's favourite music. Check out the APRA Award Winners here.
The Australian music industry all gathered together in Melbourne's Town Hall tonight (April 30), to celebrate the songwriters and producers behind our most-loved tunes.
Led by Musical Director and Australian icon Kate Miller-Heidke and hosted by Melbourne writer, comedian, producer, and broadcaster Brian Nankervis, the APRA Awards serve to shine a spotlight on those who usually like to avoid it - except for on this one treasured night!
The 2019 Awards were dominated by Amy Shark and Sarah Aarons, with Aarons taking home four awards including Songwriter of the Year, and Amy Shark taking home the award for the Peer-Voted APRA Song of the Year.
This year's APRA Awards follow on from an incredible 2018, which saw Paul Kelly's ‘Firewood and Candles’ awarded Song of The Year, and A.B. Original’s Briggs and Trials named Songwriter of the Year.

Plenty of your favourite Aussie acts scored nominations for this year's awards, including Hottest 100 winners Ocean Alley, Jack River, Hilltop Hoods, Amy Shark, Tash Sultana, G Flip, Sarah Aarons, Mojo Juju, Sia, and many more.
The event also featured a slew of live performances, including a rare live performance from The Rubens and Sarah Aarons of 'Never Ever', Middle Kids and multi-instrumentalist JP Shilo interpreting Paul Kelly’s 'With the One I Love', and many more.
