Grammy-nominated band OneRepublic are the first act to offer a money-can’t-buy experience as part of Universal Music Australia’s partnership with Optus.

On June 21, the band will perform an intimate show at an undisclosed Sydney location. Earlier this month Universal announced the band will perform their new single Wherever I Go on The Voice sometime in June. The spot follows frontman Ryan Tedder’s previous involvement as mentor.

Universal Music Australia is producing the intimate live event with its local creative agency BRING. The two entities are working alongside Optus, which will upload exclusive footage to its Optus Music platform post-event.

Speaking to TMN, BRING Managing Director Roddy Campbell said: “Australia is a Top 5 territory for One Republic and we’re excited to be able to bring the band to their many fans here off the back of the new single release."

Universal Music Australia, BRING, iHeartRadio and Optus announced their partnership last month to offer Optus customers quota-free music streaming and live music experiences.

The partnership promises 20 live music experiences each year with Optus Music hosting partner-generated editorial and video content, online experiences, music news, footage of live performances, and social content.

OneRepublic, the first cab off the rank, is readying the release of their fourth album, due later this year. The record will follow 2013’s Native, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, #8 on the ARIA chart, and has sold over five million units worldwide.

Roddy Campbell added: "In a similar way to the Bieber Island event we produced at the end of last year, Optus will get to offer its customers a unique experience with global music superstars.  Stay tuned for more events being announced as part of the exciting partnership.”

Optus Music is giving away double passes and 10 VIP Meet & Greet passes to the show. Entries close June 13. Enter to win here.
