Melbourne producer Tyron Hapi has made history by reaching #1 on the Billboard Rap and R&B/Hip-Hop Songwriters & Producers charts.

Hapi, who produced and co-wrote Masked Wolf's breakout single 'Astronaut In The Ocean', was listed on top of the R&B/Hip-Hop Producers, Rap Producers and Rap Songwriters charts within Billboard's Songwriters & Producers category for last week, ranking alongside the likes of J Cole, Drake, Lil Baby and Bruno Mars.

The 22-year-old producer signed an exclusive global publishing deal with BMG in February off the back of the unprecedented chart success of 'Astronaut In The Ocean', which sits at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 after 16 week run on the charts.

Prior to his success with Masked Wolf, Hapi had also attained Platinum and Gold ARIA certification for his club tracks 'Anyway (Feat. Mimoza)' and 'About You'.

Hapi told The Music Network about his upcoming pivot and what's next for him.

"It's an absolute blessing to hit number one on the Billboard R&B/HipHop charts and Rap Charts amongst those incredible artists and producers. It's seriously insane to think about," Hapi said.

"Coming up, I've made a big decision to move away from making dance, it's a scene that I've been producing and performing in since I was 14 and it's done so much for me, however, I'm now fully invested in the hip-hop/R&B and pop scene.

"So, expect to see heaps of new music both under my own artist project and unnamed productions with amazing artists I've looked up to since I began making music. Seriously couldn't be more excited for what's coming up."
