Triple j’s Ben & Liam continue to beat commercial rivals

In 2019, triple j’s breakfast team Ben & Liam continue to beat their more cashed-up market rivals on commercial radio.

In today’s GfK radio ratings, the first for the year, Adelaide exports turned triple j breakfast stars Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton scored 5.2% in the most competitive radio market of Sydney. 

In comparison, 2Day FM's breakfast offering hit 4.4% and Triple M Sydney's 4.7%.

In Melbourne, the pair are at 5.6%, compared to KIIS 101.1 Melbourne on 4.9%.

In Perth, triple j breakfast jumped to 10.7% (+2.7), beating Hit 92.9's 8.3%.

Harvey and Stapleton announced they would finish up at 92.7 Fresh FM in Adelaide in 2016.

Shortly after the ABC confirmed the duo would join the national youth broadcaster to replace longtime favourites Matt Okine and Alex Dyson.
