Katy Perry's classic 'Roar' soundtracks a promo for the next season of The Voice Australia on Channel 7, with stunning visuals and vocals from all four returning judges.

Keith Urban, Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy remain with the franchise in 2022 following a record-breaking return last year after moving from rival Channel 9.

The promo was directed by ARIA award-winning filmmaker James Chappell with the judges performing on a custom-built, neon-lit stage surrounded by fireworks and over 100 dancers.

The network is yet to announce a return date for The Voice Australia, but did say at its 2022 Upfront presentation that it would be the “biggest show in 2022”.

Seven executives said picking up the format from Channel 9 was a “masterstroke”.

“Nothing delivered like The Voice,” Seven West Media CEO James Warburton said.

“Remember that show that was too old and tired? Well, it’s the #1 entertainment show in 2021… The Voice was the show Australians wanted and the show Australians needed in 2021.”

The reference to the show being ‘old and tired’ was a dig at rival Channel 9, which let the show go after a nine-year run in 2020.

Seven said the show had captured a national average audience, including the regions, of 2.11 million, an increase of 49% on last year.

It was also the most successful series of The Voice Australia since 2015 and was the only series to deliver over one million metro viewers per episode.
