Spotify have teamed with AXS and Eventbrite to offer a wider range of in-app ticket purchases to its users, expanding their reach to hundreds of premium venues around the world.

This deal follows similar ones with Ticketmaster and Songkick, and clearly shows Spotify is looking to use its reach to become a major middleman of sorts for the ticketing industry. It's a savvy move, and one that will no doubt be adopted by other streaming services.

AXS is owned by AEG, with Evenbrite being privately owned. Eventbrite also just bought Pandora's ticketing biz Ticketfly, no doubt sweetening the deal for Spotify.

According to MBW, Spotify has featured concert dates in more than 100,000 venues.
