Apple Music has enlisted the help of former Bardot bandmate turned media allrounder Sophie Monk to curate the streaming service's 2000s Hits Essentials playlist over the Easter long weekend.

For the playlist, Monk has selected 25 of her favourite songs from the era, and highlighted five that were particularly special to her: Snoop Dogg's 'Drop It Like It's Hot', Britney Spears' 'Toxic', 'Don't Cha' by the Pussycat Dolls, Missy Elliot's 'Work It' and 'Mr Brightside' by The Killers.

"I did an MTV commercial with [Snoop Dogg] in Australia and he was so cool… but then I think he got arrested so it never made it to air. Every time I listen to this song it reminds me of him… Snoop just can’t do wrong (with his music anyway)," Monk said in a statement.

Of course, the playlist will also feature hits from Bardot such as 'Poison', as well as tracks from her solo career. The playlist features 100 songs in total.

"I love music from the '00s," Monk added. "So many bangers that you can play at a house party, when you’re getting ready to go out or just at home on repeat.

“I’m no DJ David Guetta but if you’re obsessed with '00s music as much as I am you might like some of these tunes. These tracks were most likely on my burnt CD playlist back in the day. Enjoy.”
