Shortlist announced for 10th Coopers AMP

Chet Faker, REMI, C.W Stoneking and #1 Dads (one half of last year's winners Big Scary) are among the nine artists to have their albums shortlisted for the 10th Coopers AMP.

Announced March 4, the winner will join previous alumni Big Scary, Hermitude, The Jezebels, Lisa Mitchell and Augie March. They’ll take home $30,000 in prize money, courtesy of PPCA.

Tom Iansek, the mastermind behind #1 Dads, said in a statement: "I didn't expect any reaction from the album's release and to have one as overwhelmingly positive as this has been amazing.”

The nine shortlisted LPs were chosen from a longlist of over 300 albums released between January 1 and December 31 last year, and selected by a 15-member industry judging panel.

AMP Founder and Prize Director Scott B. Murphy said: “Our 10th Shortlist! Including these fine 9 albums we’ve now successfully promoted over 90 great Australian albums, globally – I am very proud of this achievement and I thank all the artists, judges, patrons and sponsors who have assisted along the journey.”
