Sabrina Carpenter delivered an unexpected moment of theatrical flair during her Madison Square Garden concert on 26th October 26th, playfully "arresting" actress Anne Hathaway in front of thousands of fans.

The interaction occurred during Carpenter's performance of "Juno", as part of her ongoing tradition of arresting celebrities during her Short n' Sweet tour shows.

Hathaway, who attended the opening night of Carpenter's five-night MSG residency, found herself the target of the singer's charming arrest routine. From the stage, Carpenter addressed the actress directly, stating, "It's a crime to be this gorgeous. I just don't know what to do when I see a face like this."

The playful exchange continued when Hathaway revealed her fictional royal status, telling Carpenter she was from Genovia, the fictional kingdom from The Princess Diaries films. This revelation only fuelled Carpenter's theatrics further, as she responded, "Has anyone ever told you you look like a princess? I'm getting so flustered. Anne, can I arrest you for being the most perfect princess in the world?"

The arrest tradition has become a signature element of Carpenter's live performances, with the singer presenting Hathaway with her signature fuzzy pink handcuffs before announcing, "This one's for Anne, everybody." The actress joins an illustrious list of recent arrestees from previous shows, including supermodel Gigi Hadid, Stranger Things star Joe Keery, and British singer Olivia Dean.

The moment highlighted the genuine chemistry between the two performers, with Carpenter's flustered reaction adding authenticity to the spontaneous interaction. The arrest segment during "Juno" has become a highly anticipated part of each show, with fans eagerly watching to see which celebrity might be called out from the audience.

Meanwhile, Hathaway's attendance at the show coincided with her return to high-profile projects. The actress is currently in production for The Devil Wears Prada 2, reprising her role as Andy Sachs. Additionally, she has been working on her musical skills for David Lowery's upcoming film Mother Mary, collaborating with Jack Antonoff, who also works closely with Carpenter.

Hathaway previously discussed her musical journey with Vogue, explaining, "I had to submit to being a beginner. The humility of that—showing up every day knowing you're going to suck. And it has to be okay."
