Rolling Stone Australia returns after two-year hiatus

Rolling Stone Australia is live, with the masthead re-launching online today (February 3) by new publisher The Brag Media.

The new Rolling Stone Australia will feature premium content across multiple platforms including digital, social, podcasts, video, merchandising and events.

Syndicated editorial will feature alongside original and locally produced content.

The Rolling Stone Australia team is led by managing editor Poppy Reid and editor Tyler Jenke, and will cover music, politics, sports, TV, film and culture.

It joins The Brag Media's suite of publications including Tone Deaf, Don't Bore Us, The Brag and The Industry Observer.

In a sign of the rebounding health of music publishing in this country, Rolling Stone is the second legacy music media brand to launch in Australia in recent months.

British title NME also confirmed its first foray into the Aussie market in December.

The iconic Roling Stone masthead has been absent for the past two years, since former publisher Paper Riot Pty Ltd went into external administration in January 2018.

Rolling Stone Australia originally launched in Australia in 1970, set up by young publisher and Monash University student Phillip Frazer as a supplement in Revolution magazine.

Before its recent hiatus, the Australian version of Rolling Stone was its longest surviving international edition.
