Angela Samut has resigned from her role as the CEO of QMusic

Angela Samut has resigned from her role as CEO of Queensland’s music industry development association QMusic, it was announced today.

Angela Samut has resigned from her role as the CEO of QMusic, as reported by The Music Network.

A spokesperson who spoke to TMN confirmed the departure of Samut today.

“We can confirm that Angela Samut resigned as CEO from QMusic a couple of months back,” the spokesperson told the publication.

"QMusic has been recruiting for two months. A formal announcement will be made soon.”

According to a job listing for the position previously held by Samut, her replacement will be paid a base salary of between $160,000 and $165,000.

“As CEO, you will be the face of QMusic and a highly visible, strategic and hands-on leader, promoting collaboration and partnering, and identifying growth opportunities,” the ad said.

The music news website revealed they believe that a replacement for Samut has already been selected, with contract negotiations apparently underway at the time of writing.

An announcement for Samut's replacement is expected to be revealed within the next two weeks.

Prior to being appointed CEO of QMusic, Samut had previous held the role of Communications and Marketing Manager for Screen Queensland since 2014.

She also had undertaken roles as Publicity and Promotions Manager with Paramount Pictures, Publicist with Network 10 and National Publicist for Festival Mushroom Records from 2002 until 2004.

At the time of her appointment in April 2019, QMusic President Michael Crutcher said: “We’re delighted that Angela will join QMusic. The final field for the position was very strong and the interview process showcased several strong contenders from several states."
