POOF DOOF Launches Record Label to Amplify Queer Voices
Australian queer nightclub and events brand POOF DOOF has launched its very own record label, designed to amplify queer voices.

Australian queer nightclub and events brand POOF DOOF has launched its very own record label, debuting with its first release from Jimi the Kween, "All I Need".
POOF DOOF Records hopes to amplify queer voices and redefine the intersection of nightlife, music, and culture on the global stage.
Born from over a decade of shaping dance floors across Australia, Asia, Europe, and the US, it marks a natural evolution for the brand, extending its influence beyond the club with a clear missions: to create meaningful pathways for queer artists to develop, release, and perform their work.
“Launching POOF DOOF Records for the community has been on my mind for many years,” said Anthony Hocking, founder of POOF DOOF. “POOF DOOF has always been in the business of supporting up-and-coming queer talent in Australia, and creating POOF DOOF Records is a natural progression of that journey.”
The club has hosted performances and DJs sets from internationally renown queer artists including Honey Dijon, Pabllo Vittar, and The Veronicas, through to mainstream heavyweights including Carl Cox, Purple Disco Machine, Claptone, and Melanie C.
From weekly club nights to major festival takeovers including Beyond The Valley, Splendour in the Grass, World Pride and Sydney Mardi Gras, the brand has consistently championed both emerging and internationally recognised artists.

POOF DOOF Records hopes to build on this legacy - not as a traditional genre-bound label, but as a queer-led platform driven by identity, community, and creative freedom. “POOF DOOF Records is here, and we are incredibly excited to continue uplifting and nurturing queer talent in Australia, and to share that with the world,” Hocking said.
The label will span a broad sonic landscape - from future-forward house and techno to artist-led pop - unified not by genre, but by a distinctly queer creative perspective.
It launches with a first release from Jimi the Kween, with the single "All I Need", marking the beginning of a new chapter for the artist too. An accomplished musician, singer, dancer, and DJ, Jimi the Kween is the drag superstar of your dreams.
“Providing a roadmap and meaningful support for queer artists has been a key focus for our team,” Hocking continued. “We’re excited to bring this to life with our first release from Jimi The Kween and their Pride anthem ‘All I Need’.”
In its early stages, the label will accept submissions via POOF DOOF’s digital platforms, with plans to evolve into a more traditional A&R model as it grows. See here for more information.
