Morgan Wallen Lassos Another ARIA Chart Crown

It’s another big country week on the ARIA Charts, as Morgan Wallen retains top spot on the albums tally with I'm the Problem (via Universal).

The American country superstar has a massive fanbase in Australia, the world’s No. 3 market for the genre. Morgan was the last country male singer to top the national chart, with 2023’s One Thing At a Time, which logged two weeks at the summit.

At the same time, his track "Last Night" dominated the ARIA Singles Chart, marking his first chart double in these parts.

Wallen supported that album release with an arena tour, produced by Frontier Touring, and a headline slot at CMC Rocks QLD 2023. Although dates haven’t been announced, Wallen is expected to tour Australian once again in 2026.

US pop singers Sabrina Carpenter (Short n' Sweet, up 4-2 via Island/Universal) and Billie Eilish (Hit Me Hard and Soft, up 6-3 via Interscope/Universal) respectively complete the top three.

Following his confirmation to the bill for Fridayz Live 2025, Pitbull’s Greatest Hits (Universal) climbs into the top 10 for the first time, up 16-9. According to ARIA, the Miami rapper’s highest charted album here is Planet Pit, which peaked at No. 5 back in 2011.

Melbourne pop-rock act Kisschasy returns to the top 40 with Hymns for the Nonbeliever, which reenters at No. 28 following its release on vinyl. The independently-released collection peaked at No. 5 in 2007.

Australian punk-rock band Private Function miss out on a top 40 spot with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It’s new at No. 43, for their third appearance on the survey. Private Function scored a top 10 in 2020 with Whose Line Is It Anyway?, reaching No. 9.

Their AIR Award-winning follow-up, 370HSSV 0773H, went to No. 11 following the release of a first pressing “Gold” edition on clear-coloured vinyl which was said to be filled with the band's urine, and limited to 50 copies. The new LP includes a limited edition “scratch ’n’ sniff” vinyl version with a scent that mimics Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina-scented Goop candles.

The third Australian title on the current ARIA Chart is Spacey Jane’s third release If That Makes Sense (AWAL), which dips 17-31 in its third week.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, Alex Warren extends his reign to 10 straight weeks with “Ordinary” (Atlantic/Warner). Just 30 songs have spent 10 or more weeks at No. 1, a club that’s led by Tones and I, whose “Dance Monkey” ruled for 24 non-consecutive weeks in 2019-20.

Sombr locks up both podium spots with “undressed” at No. 2 and “back to friends” (both via Warner) at No. 3. The 19-year-old New York alt-pop artist will visit Australia and New Zealand in December for his 'The Late Nights & Young Romance Tour', produced by Frontier Touring. The current singles chart, published late Friday, May 30th, is a barren place for Australian acts. Not one homegrown single appears in the top 50.
