Sydney producer Moonbase (formerly Moonbase Commander), aka Nick Luke, has announced his return from an unexpected hiatus, revealing that he was suffering from a brain tumour.

"From the start of 2018 I spent most of my time in hospital rooms," his Facebook post read.

"I was experiencing migraines, bouts of dizziness, nausea and much more over the past year."

Following a run of shows during the 2017 new year period, he had a CT scan to determine the cause.

The scan "discovered that these symptoms were being caused by a deadly tumour in my head that was growing against my brain stem.

"One emergency brain surgery, many stitches (pic attached), metal plating, and a lot of recovery time later, I’m happy to say that I’m all clear and ready to start making moves again.

"I’m out of the woods now and I’ve got plenty of new music coming in 2018. See u soon."
