Around this time last year Melbourne artist Meg Mac inked a deal with Lyor Cohen’s 300 Entertainment for the world release (ex-Aus and NZ) of her debut EP. Now, just over one year later, she’s signed a global publishing deal with BMG and Pulse Music.

The co-publishing agreement comes during the powerhouse vocalist’s writing trip to LA, where she’s working on songs for her debut record.

Mac has already achieved US success however, her track Detroit soul-pop Roll Up Your Sleeves cracked the Top 30 of the US Billboard Alt Charts last year. The track also took out the closing credits in this week’s HBO Girls episode.

In Australia Mac’s single Never Be peaked at #39 on the ARIA chart last August and placed 11th in the coveted triple j Hottest 100 music poll - making it one of 33 songs containing lead female vocals. The Hottest 100 is the second biggest publicly voted poll in Australia, behind the federal election.

BMG EVP Writer Services Thomas Scherer also commented: "We fell in love with Meg Mac’s smoldering vocals and soulful songs which have earned her worldwide praise. We are extremely enthusiastic about signing such a true talent and providing her with a creative home during this momentous moment and beyond in her blossoming career."

PULSE Co-CEO Scott Cutler added: "We are thrilled to be working with the great Meg Mac, whose powerful voice moved us from the first moment we heard it. She is that rare career artist whose music is both rooted in the past and reaching fearlessly into the future."

Mac joins BMG’s storied client roster including John Legend, Bruno Mars and Australia’s DMA’S and joins Run The Jewels, Miike Snow and Galantis on Pulse’s roster.
