Two-time Grammy winner Lorde, opera trio Sol3 Mio, brother sister duo Broods, 2009 Australian Idol winner Stan Walker, The Naked and Famous and Liam Finn have received multiple nominations for next month’s Vodafone NZ Music Awards.

Lorde leads the pack with five nominations, Sol3 Mio and multiple NZMA winner Ladi6 received four and Broods, whose self-titled EP peaked inside the ARIA Top 30 in January are up for three awards including People’s Choice and Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Lorde’s co-writer and producer of Broods’ EP, Joel Little, has already taken out two awards in the technical categories (Tuis); Little took home the NZMA for Best Producer and Best Engineer for his work on Lorde’s debut album Pure Heroine. Little won the Song of the Year Grammy alongside Lorde in Januray for Royals.

The New Zealand Herald Legacy Award recipient has this year gone to funk-rap seven-piece Supergroove. The award acknowledges artists who have shaped the NZ music industry.

The awards take place at Auckland’s Vector Arena on November 20 and broadcast live in NZ on channel Four. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Dai Henwood and TV presenter Shannon Ryan, and will feature live performances by Tiny Ruins, Benny Tipene, Blacklistt, Sol3 Mio, Broods, and David Dallas.
