Kylie Minogue Scores 9th No. 1 Album In Australia With 'Tension II'
Australia's queen of pop Kylie Minogue has topped the ARIA Charts for the ninth time with her latest album 'Tension II' debuting at No. 1.

Australia's queen of pop Kylie Minogue has topped the ARIA Chart with her latest album Tension II debuting at No. 1 this week - her ninth leader.
Minogue's sequel to last year's Tension digs further into her newfound love of electronica and was proceeded by lead single "Lights Camera Action". It includes nine new songs along with collaborations with The Blessed Madonna, Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo, Orville Peck & Diplo, and Sia.
In his 3.5 star review of Tension II, Rolling Stone's Rob Sheffield described Minogue's album as "every bit as choice as her 2022 Tension was — and don’t even think about pretending to be surprised. Again, she’s the sure thing.
"One thing you can always count on is the way the dance-floor queen will always step back into our lives with another effortlessly sparkling pop statement in her signature disco style."
Tension II joins the following list of Mingoue's albums which have topped the ARIA charts:
- Light Years (2000)
- Fever (2001)

- Kiss Me Once (2014)
- Golden (2018)
- Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection (2019)
- DISCO (2020)
- Tension (2023)
Minogue's success this week adds to a huge 2024 where she's won the Global Icon Award at the BRITs, Best Pop Dance Recording Grammy for last year's smash hit "Padam Padam," attended the Met Gala, completed her inaugural Las Vegas residency and done a headlining show in London's Hyde Park. She was also set to be one of the headliners for this year's Splendour In The Grass festival in Byron Bay before it was cancelled.
Last month Kylie announced her highly anticipated Tension tour for 2025, which will begin Australia in February next year before heading around the world.
