Kyle and Jackie O’s replacements announced

Southern Cross Austereo this morning confirmed one of the biggest rumors in commercial radio history.

Announced this morning, the new 2Day FM breakfast team set to replace Kyle and Jackie O are as follows: Merrick Watts, Sophie Monk, Jules Lund and Mel B.

When asked why it takes four people to replace the most popular pair in radio, Merrick replied; “Well to be completely fair Kyle is the size of three, Oh come on I can’t be the first person to make that joke.”

Jokes aside, it’s clear SCA has achieved a strong mix of entertainment professionals but whether the group can run cohesively on air is yet to be seen.

For now, Dan & Maz will continue to host the summer breakfast show before the new show begins in January 2014.
