Australia’s national music export office, SOUNDS AUSTRALIA, is celebrating a decade of bringing Aussie music to global audiences.

Established on January 5 2009, the initiative has been instrumental in paving a global path for such acts as Alison Wonderland, Dean Lewis, Gang Of Youths and more.

Over 900 local acts have performed at 220 international showcase events over the past 10 years, including the world-renowned Sound Gallery and The Aussie BBQ.

“Presenting under a national umbrella for the past decade have guaranteed a stronger sum of its parts presence from Australia in the global music marketplace,” said founding employee and executive producer Millie Millgate.

To celebrate the milestone, SOUNDS AUSTRALIA is planning a number of events for 2019.

Partnering with G’DAY USA, Sounds Australia will be at SXSW to present Australia House in March. The event will showcase the best of Aussie film, music, food and wine.
