The latest fund raising initiative by Australian music industry charity Golden Stave is the inaugural Melbourne Cup Charity Lunch. It is held on Tuesday November 3 at the Sheraton On The Park between midday to 5.30pm.

It is hosted by six-time Golden Guitar winning singer Melinda Schneider and veteran broadcaster Ian 'Dano' Rogerson. Shannon Noll and Amber Lawrence are performing.

Ticket prices are $195 for a single lunch ticket (includes a $96 voluntary donation) while a table of ten is $1950 (includes a $960.00 voluntary donation). The dress code is “your best Race Day Cocktail”.

In June this year organisers of the annual Golden Stave Gala Charity Dinner were forced to cancel the event. It was the first time the event wasn't held in its 37-years. The Board of Trustees of The Golden Stave Foundation cited “disappointing” ticket sales as the reason.
