Frontier have as much as announced a tour of Australia and New Zealand by Sir Paul McCartney: ex-Wings bassist, and co-writer of the 1989 Elvis Costello hit 'Veronica'.

The touring company posted the below photo of a hand holding a guitar emblazoned with stickers of a kangaroo and a kiwi. The hand is McCartney's, as numerous commentators have pointed out.

Of course, McCartney is also known for replacing Kurt Cobain as frontman of Nirvana for a one-off single, writing Badfinger's 'Come and Get It', and for his late '70s hit 'Silly Love Songs'.

This tour is obviously a big deal; McCartney hasn't toured since 1993, on the New World Tour. A planned 2002 tour was cancelled after the Bali bombings.

We'll bring you specific dates as soon as they are announced.
