Flight Facilities’ epic 'Stranded' wins major prize at SoundKILDA music video awards

Flight Facilities took out Best Music Video with 'Stranded'.

Flight Facilities took out the major win at SoundKILDA – the music video component of the St. Kilda Film Festival.

Film director Tom Noakes critically acclaimed video for their epic six-minute track ‘Stranded’ took out the main prize for Best Music Video.

Shot in a decommissioned Sydney prison and produced by Freya Mackenzie, the video featured actors Lauie Sila and Jenny Wu.

The track itself was recorded across three continents, with New Zealand pop duo Broods, Los Angeles singer Saro and singer and comedian Reggie Watts.

Client Liaison also scooped Best Cinematography for ‘A Foreign Affair’ (featuring Tina Arena), directed by Tim White and produced by: Ruth Morris and Giordi Caputo.

The video was a look at the spirit of airports and pre-flight rituals. It won the 2017 triple j Best Australian Music Video, and was nominated for Best Video at the ARIA awards.

Audience Choice award went to Gordi’s ‘Bitter End’, directed by VR and 2D director and editor Michael Beets and produced by Jess Langley.

Jhess Knight, creative director at Trash Puppets handled the puppets in the inventive video.

Total Giovanni’s ‘Your Light’ won the Craft category, with visual content directed by Julian Lucas of Melbourne and video company Wildebeest and produced by Giordi Caputo.
