fbi smac awards winners announced

After declaring they would “probably punch you in the face” if you told them they would write a pop song when they accepted the FBi Sydney Music Arts & Culture (SMAC) Award for Best Song, The Preatures were back on stage at Carriageworks last night to accept the award for Record of the Year. The Sydney band’s debut LP Blue Planet Eyes was released last September and hit the Top 5 on the ARIA Chart.

The SMAC of the Year went to Laneway Festival co-founder Danny Rogers, while electro trio Seekae took out Best Song with Test & Recognise.

triple j favourite Montaigne, who signed to Wonderlick Entertainment last August, performed on the night, before taking out the SMAC for Next Big Thing.
