Death By Denim has signed with Paradigm Agency for live bookings in the U.K. and Europe, The Industry Observer can exclusively reveal.

It’s a forward-looking deal which gives Death By Denim a powerful partner when the route to international touring opens up once more.

The indie psych-rock four-piece from Perth join Vance Joy, Ziggy Alberts and others on the roster of Paradigm’s agent Tom Taaffe.

‘We can’t wait to play our first shows in the U.K. and Europe next year,” the band say in a statement. “We’re stoked to join the Paradigm family and we’ll be announcing our first tour there as soon as Australia lets us.”

Recognised for their high-energy live shows, Death By Denim essentially lived on the road pre-COVID, completing three laps of the country in 2019 and securing a slot on the Falls Festival bill.

Last year, the band signed a management deal with Regan Lethbridge and David Morgan’s Lemon Tree Music, joining a stable of artists including Tones And I, Tash Sultana, Garrett Kato, and Pierce Brothers.

Also in 2019, the lads released their second EP Year Long Minute, led by the single ‘Wiggy’ which earned triple j rotation and cracked the Unearthed top 50 for most played tracks of the year.

“I’m incredibly excited to work with Death By Denim. From the first time I heard their songs a few months back I was hooked,” Taaffe tells TIO. “Every time I have the privilege to hear a new demo my confidence in them grows. In this band, I believe Australia has one of the next homegrown bands to really cut through in U.K. and Europe.”

Triple j has supported Death By Denim’s 2020 single releases ‘Homemade’ and their latest, ‘Jump to Mars,’ which premiered on the station in May.

All the pieces are set up for an international breakout 2021 (*fingers crossed).

“The quality of new music Death by Denim have released this year has been incredible, and I'm so glad it found its way to Tom and his team at Paradigm Agency,” LTM’s Kristie McCarthy tells TIO. Touring Europe and the United Kingdom has been “a goal of the band since day one, so we can't wait to get them over there next year when it's safe to do so.”

‘Out of Habit’ is the latest track lifted from DBD’s forthcoming debut album, set for release later this year.

The five-date 'Out of Habit' tour kicks off this Friday (7th August) at the Indian Ocean Hotel in Scarborough, W.A.
