Darkwave, the arts, music and entertainment-specialist accounting firm, is launching a business management division, The Music Network can exclusively reveal.

Set to be revealed today (May 8), Darkwave Business Management will enable the business to further its mission by providing clients with a “virtual CFO” to handle all financial aspects of their activities, reads a statement, and support on such matters as bookkeeping, accounting and taxation services.

According to its founders Meredith Fannin and Andrew Elmore, the new division will help guide creators through the complexities of their finances, and enable clients to take control of and better understand how the money rolls in the creative industries.

“Our goal for Darkwave, with the launch of Darkwave Business Management, is to empower creatives to achieve their financial goals and thrive by providing effective strategies and solutions that align with their vision and values,” comments Fannin.

Over the past decade and a half, the company “has strongly emphasised a collaborative approach to our work, as we work closely with artists and their management teams to understand their financial goals,” she adds.

“This allows us to create tailored management strategies that align with the specific needs of any individual artist.”

The arrival of Darkwave Business Management, notes Elmore, comes “at a time of significant change in the financial landscape for musicians and creatives. Recent changes to superannuation, and expected changes to tax legislation, are making it more important than ever to have a transparent collaborator working on your business."

Founded in 2006, the Australian-owned and operated Darkwave already offers a range of services including bookkeeping, taxation compliance, through to management accounting and business consulting services.
