Courtney Barnett up for major UK award
The UK's NME Awards shortlist was revealed overnight.

Remember in 2015 when Courtney Barnett returned from SXSW an international 'buzz' act? Three years on, and five years since the release of her breakout double EP A Sea Of Split Peas, the Melbourne artist has three ARIAs to her name, a Grammy and Brit award nomination. Now, she's up for an NME Award.
The UK's NME Awards shortlist was revealed overnight with Courtney Barnett and her beloved comrade Kurt Vile picking up a nod for Best Collaboration for ‘Continental Breakfast’.
The pair are up against Craig David and Bastille, (‘I Know You’), Stefflon Don and Skepta, (‘Ding-A-Ling’), Gorillaz and Jehnny Beth, (‘We Got The Power’), Lily Allen and Giggs, (‘Trigger Bang’) and Yungen and Yxng Bane, (‘Bestie').
In October 2017, Barnett's collaboration with the American indie-rocker, ‘Lotta Sea Lice’ hit #5 on the ARIA chart, #11 in the UK and #4 on the US indie chart.

Lorde and Charli XCX lead the shortlist. Both acts boast four nominations, including for Best Track.
The ceremony, which takes place at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on February 14 will see
Liam Gallagher pick up his Godlike Genius award on the night, before playing a special set to close the event.
