A month after TMN revealed that US-based Concord Music was looking to enter the Australian market, the company has officially announced it is setting up shop in Melbourne.

It is helmed by label manager Andrew Hajgato,  previously national accounts manager at Universal Music, label manager at Cooking Vinyl and label services manager at Inertia Music.

Hajgato will market their frontline and catalogue releases, and reports to Concord Recorded Music international senior VPs Michael Nance and Rebecca Berman.

The announcement comes as chief label executive Tom Whalley simultaneously launches similar operations in the UK, Canada and Germany.

Concord has 12,000 active albums and includes no less than 271 Grammy winners (representing approximately 6.2% of all the Grammys ever awarded) and over 400 gold, platinum, multi-platinum and diamond RIAA certifications across 215 titles.

New releases are from Concord Recorded Music imprints Concord, Fantasy, Fearless, Loma Vista and Rounder, and catalogue reissues from Craft Recordings.
