Spotify has hired former UMA executive Cameron Farrelly as global creative director.

As MBW reports, the New York-based Aussie is set to lead the “creative vision for Artist and Music Marketing” at Spotify.

Farrelly is also tasked with “developing campaigns, activation and original IP that the world will obsess about”.

"I have something like 30,000,000 people in the team, across all styles and genres," he joked on his LinkedIn page.

Most recently Farrelly was working at Vic Media, working as chief creative officer of Virtue Worldwide, which saw him work with Beats, Netflix and more.

His other roles have included executive creative director at Universal Music Group in Sydney, where he helped to launch UMA's first in-house creative lab.

Spotify reached 100 million subscribers in April and announced that its revenue had jumped 33% for the first quarter of 2019.
