BMG signs Sydney producer duo Polographia to global publishing deal

BMG has signed Sydney-based producer duo Polographia to a global publishing deal.

Through their record deal with Sweat It Out!, Moktar Sharouny and Daniel Finn self-released the ethereal Sunsets EP in 2011.

It led to opening stints for acts as Rüfüs, Snakehips, Tycho, Glass Animals, Shlohmo, Chrome Sparks, Giraffage and Shigeto.

The 2016 EP Friends which saw collaborations with Winston Surfshirt and Looks Fade, got triple j support, which resulted in remixes from Fortunes, Godriguez (Sampa The Great’s producer), Viceroy and Psychemagik.

Amy Jarman, senior A&R manager of BMG Australia said, “It’s exciting to be working with Dan and Mok, who are extremely versatile writer/producers.

“We look forward to helping open up more international opportunities for Polographia through co-writing and collaboration and being a major part of the story to come”.

Dan and Mok of Polographia commented, “We're so excited to have signed a global publishing deal with BMG along with artists and writers we love!”.

In late 2017, Polographia unveiled Heart Attack feat. Rush Midnight, their first single since Friends.

Since then, the duo teamed up with fellow BMG writer Winston Surfshirt to create POLOSHIRT, a collaborative project merging Surfshirt’s funk, soul and hip hop and Polographia’s electronic groove.

POLOSHIRT have performed at Curve Ball, been billed on Listen Out 2018 and embarked on a sold-out national tour last month, while their single Pinned Upon has received heavy rotation from triple j.

BMG’s Australian roster includes Peking Duk, LDRU, SAFIA, Golden Features, KLP, Running Touch, AC/DC, Didirri, Wolfmother, The Living End, Nicole Millar, Drapht, Montaigne and Matt Corby.
