Triple j has lost another journo.

Alice Matthews has announced that she is leaving the national broadcaster, and is one of five new additions to popular SBS VICELAND show The Feed.

Matthews won a Walkley Award in 2015 for her reporting on sex abuse in the medical industry.

She has also worked on two publications for the UN on protecting sources and fake news.

With the departure of Brooke Booney to Today at the beginning of the year, Matthews became the full-time newsreader for Ben & Liam.

She has also worked on triple j's Hack program, and is one of five new additions to The Feed team.

New hires include Buzzfeed documentary maker Tania Safi, former SBS cadet Michelle Rimmer, former VICE documentary maker and Audible podcaster Rebecca Metcalf, and MTV's David Ma.

Founding members Jan Fran and Patrick Abboud will depart the show.

“If I could dream up the best job right now for a young journalist, it would be this," said Alice.

"I love the way The Feed combines brilliant journalism with a couple of solid lols. I am so excited to join the team.

"My role will inevitably involve feeble attempts to fill the void left behind by Jan and Pat, while managing Hing’s blatant efforts at a total take over. I can’t wait!”

Matthews also took to Instagram to farewell the triple j news team as well as Ben & Liam.
