Songwriter, DJ and radio host KLP (Kristy Lee Peters) is expanding her Ricochet initiative.

As TMN reported then, she launched it in March on International Women’s Day as a wide background community brought together through music, learning to grow through group activities and workshops covering health, food, beauty and passion, and helping each other through mentorships.

This morning, KLP and music publicist Anna Fitzgerald launched Ricochet BALL, a mixed netball competition for the music and creative industries to raise money for female-focused charities.

The first of these events takes place in Sydney on Friday September 28 between 2 pm and 6 pm.

The mixed netball competition is open to teams from record labels, touring agencies, media, musicians and other creatives.

They say, “Ricochet BALL aims to bring people together in a safe, healthy and inclusive environment, with each team raising money for their chosen charity.”

On launching Ricochet BALL, KLP said, “It’s been a dream of mine for a few years now to launch Ricochet, so to be bringing it to life and launching what’s to come with the first Ricochet BALL is incredibly exciting.”

Anna Fitzgerald added, “Kristy and I both had the same idea of launching a mixed netball competition for the music industry and we thought this year was the perfect time to make it happen.

“We hope everyone gets involved, starts training and raising money for their chosen charity!”

Nike will be fitting out the teams on the day and the post-tournament celebrations to follow.

Teams are encouraged to register their interest at contact@thisisricochet.com.
