The latest signing to Double Drummer Recordings remains a mystery to most, but he’s drumming-up a fair amount of industry interest.

Able Joseph, a singer-songwriter with a sound and style that should work over the airwaves, has signed with Tim and Ed Prescott’s Double Drummer, Piper's Son Management, Select Music and Six Boroughs, TMN can confirm.

Born in Britain and based in Sydney, Joseph has previously co-written songs with the likes of Jaguar Jonze, Hauskey, Bec Sandridge, Jordie Ireland, Third Party, Yorke, Xavier Dunn, Cyrus, Eliott, Grum and Woodes.

The first new music from Joseph should arrive next month, though don’t expect to see him in the flesh anytime soon.

Positioned as both a “cosmos journeyman” and a “musical nomad,” the project will beam into DSPs and your social feeds as an original animation, its eye-catching images created by Trevor Conrad.

“We’re pretty excited,” Prescott tells TMN. “During the last year we’ve had the good fortune to work with some incredibly talented artists.”
