Abbey Road Institute Australia will be relocating to Sydney to form an education partnership with the prestigious recording studio, Studios 301.

The move will offer Abbey Road students access to the studios during their course, giving them real-world insight into how commercial studios operate. Those undertaking the institute's advanced diploma of music industry will also have the opportunity to network with the studio's engineers and producers.

Abbey Road formerly operated in the Melbourne suburb of Southbank, known for its proximity to the city's arts precinct.

"The teaching spaces will be located within our world-class facilities, with the institute having their own dedicated studios, production and writing rooms and classroom, alongside our commercial spaces dedicated to our existing and growing client base," said Ron Haryanto, Abbey Road Institute CEO and Studios 301 general manager.

"Studios 301’s dynamic array of specialised skills, recording experience, technical excellence and industry links will now be available to Australia’s up-and-coming talent to help them become the music producers and audio professionals of the future and that is a truly exciting partnership."

Studios 301 was established in 1926 and is Australia's largest recording studio. The studio's recording facilities have been used by Lizzo, Tones And I, Cold Chisel, Amy Shark, The Weeknd and more.

In 2018, the studio underwent a multimillion-dollar transformation, launching a new state-of-the-art facility.
