The Association of Artist Managers (AAM) and the Australian Independent Record Label Association (AIR) have teamed up to deliver the Fast Track Fellowships, a new initiative designed to help boost Victoria's music industry with by building international connections.

Funded by the Victorian Government as part of their $22m Music Works Package, the program will see two artist managers and two indie label owners undertake a series of professional development programs at overseas music companies for a period of two months or more.

Martin Foley, the Minister for Creative Industries says this program is just one of many strategies that to the Victorian Government is attempting to undertake in order to help strengthen their state's music industry. “The Fast Track Fellowships are an example of how we are backing our music industry and the people and businesses that drive it," he said.

"This program is all about taking our industry to the next level and creating genuine opportunities for international growth. It’s the first program of its kind and we are proud to work with AIR and AAM to make it happen.”

The program intends to help set the tone for any future trade opportunities, while also providing a number of new pathways for local artists to boost their careers by breaking into international markets.

More information on the application process, selection criteria, and eligibility is set to be revealed in the coming months, so be sure to keep an eye on both the Association of Artist Managers (AAM) and Independent Record Label Association (AIR) websites in the near future.
