The total amount raised by A Gathering for Gaza has been revealed.

The fundraising event raised $336,028 in support of Olive Kids, PANZMA, PARA and Médecins Sans Frontières Australia (Doctors Without Borders).

The money will be used to support their critical ongoing work on the ground in Gaza amidst an ongoing genocide, providing essential services like medical aid, food and education, as well as supporting new arrivals from Palestine.

The money was pooled from net profits from ticket sales, event merchandise and bar sales on the day, with additional support from Oztix donating booking fees, RRR and PBS airing pro bono radio carts, Plakkit and Rock Posters running discounted poster runs, pro bono event publicity from Super Duper, and The Last Supper lending equipment and Bodriggy donating beverages for artist catering.

More than 5,000 people attended A Gathering for Gaza at PICA on Saturday, January 17th.

Mo Chara from Belfast hip-hop trio Kneecap joined by video from across the globe to show his support, urging attendees to keep focus on the genocide of the Palestinian people and the importance of collective action.

Melbourne-based Palestinian artist YARA joined Julia Jackin on stage to perform the latter's song "Pool Party"; Jacklin joined Angie McMahon for her cover of Australian Crawl’s "Reckless"; MC and event host Nazeem Hussain and the crowd showed their support for author Randa Abdel-Fattah, while Genesis Owusu closed out the night with the audience.
