The others on the list ranged from all over the US, Europe and the UK, as well as emerging music markets as China, Peru, Poland, Venezuela, Taiwan, Colombia, Portugal, Ghana, Thailand and Indonesia.
They’ll play to a total of 50,000 delegates who have registered for music, film and interactive.
Between 800 and 850 will be from Australia.
According to Phil Tripp, the festival’s long time rep for Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii, 65% of the Australian contingent is made up of interactive and platinum (the latter means tickets to all three disciplines), 30% for music and 5% for films.
In terms of showcases, Australia is one of the highest per capita in delivering acts.
“Our success as a country is directly attributed to Sounds Australia’s innovative initiatives,” Tripp tells TMN.
