Melbourne artist Liz Stringer has signed to Milk! Records, the independent label launched by artists Courtney Barnett and Jen Cloher.

The signing announcement coincides with the release of Stringer's new single 'First Time Really Feeling', lifted from her forthcoming album of the same name. The 10-track record will be released on April 30 through Milk!/Remote Control Records.

By signing to Milk! as a solo artist, Stringer joins the label that oversees her collaborative trio Dyson Stringer Cloher.

"I'm really proud and excited to be joining Milk! Records as a solo artist. I've long admired Milk!'s independence and community focus and after already being involved through Dyson Stringer Cloher, it feels like a natural fit for my new record," Stringer said.

Other artists on Milk!'s roster include Hachiku, Sleater-Kinney, Chastity Belt, Jade Imagine and Evelyn Ida Morris.

Milk! label manager Tom Larnarch-Jones added: "We are thrilled to fully embrace Liz as a member of the Milk! family. We have loved working with her over the years as part of Dyson Stringer Cloher and are excited to share this album. It's rare to get the opportunity to work alongside one of Australia's greatest songwriters and musicians."

Elsewhere, Stringer is represented by Applejack Management, Gaga Music Publishing and Select Music.

“Liz is such an incredibly talented songwriter and performer – it is truly criminal how many people don’t know this," Applejack's Jeremy Furze said.

"Al and I are absolutely thrilled to be joining team Stringer after both being big fans on the sidelines for many years. We’re so excited about this new album and the many more to follow. Criminal.”
