Triple j favourite Essie Holt signs to booking agency Seismic Talent

Melbourne singer-songwriter Essie Holt has signed with booking agency Seismic Talent.

She joins a roster which includes Alison Wonderland, Kira Puru, Running Touch and The Presets.

“Essie Holt is bringing an authenticity and vulnerability to pop that is unmatched in Australia right now – we’re so thrilled to have her part of the Seismic Talent family,” Director Joel Siviour said.

Holt will play two shows as part of Great Southern Nights in support of her new single ‘Wanna Stay Up With You’ at Northies, Cronulla (November 6) and Soda Factory (November 15).

The new single follows her debut EP Silent Wars from earlier this year which explored Holt’s queer identity to strong media and streaming support.

“Pop is becoming a cool genre again,” she previously said. “Even a few years ago, I feel like if I told people I made pop music, I felt like I was being judged, a little bit.

“But there’s no shame in it for me now, I’m so happy to say I make pop music.”

Last year she was named triple j Unearthed Feature Artist, the same year she toured the UK with one of her heroes, Nina Nesbitt.
