Coldwave Signs With Ground Control Touring For U.S. Bookings

Coldwave has its sights set on the U.S. and Canada, through a new arrangement with Ground Control Touring.

Ahead of showcases at SXSW in Austin this March, the Tandanya/Adelaide-based post-punk outfit signs with Ground Control Touring for North America bookings.

At Ground Control Touring, Coldwave joins a roster that includes Japanese Breakfast, Waxahatchee, Cate Le Bon, Parquet Courts, Frankie Cosmos, Kim Gordon, Kurt Vile, SPEED, Yard Act and more.

The six-piece will be represented by New York-based Alisa Preisler, who also books Shannon and the Clams, Yumi Zouma, Yaya Bey, Magdalena Bay and others. Preisler joins Coldwave's international bookings team which includes U.K. booking agent Matt Hanner of Runway Artists and ANZ agent Adam Montgomery at Lonely Lands Agency (LLA).

Before working the stages in Texas, Coldwave will the road for eight shows in the U.K., their first in that market. Those dates are scheduled to start February 27th at Castle Hotel in Manchester.

Coldwave will warm up with a special send-off Show at Exeter Beer Garden in their hometown on February 8th from 5pm, with friends Ella Ion and Free Golf on the bill.

The planets have aligned for Coldwave since the release of their debut EP "Same Window, Different House" in 2023. The group was named triple j Unearthed Feature Artist, performed at Laneway Festival, played Bigsound and SXSW Sydney and caught the attention of tastemakers here and abroad.

Formed in 2020, Coldwave is Harrison Evans (he/him; vocals), Kiran Memisoglou (he/him; guitar), Anthony Griffin (he/him; guitar/vocals), Sean McGowan (they/them; trumpet/synth/vocals), Lara Patzel (she/they; bass) and Jordan Maywald (he/him; drums).

Ground Control Touring is a boutique booking agency, founded in 2000 by Eric Dimenstein and Jim Romeo.
