Sydney producer and instrumentalist Kilter is back with a bang on new single 'Overdrive'.

He's joined by Byron Bay act Yorke, providing soulful vocals on the driving new release, after the pair previewed the track at Up Down festival last week.

It's Kilter's first new music since 2018 single 'No Games', though he has produced music for the likes of Nicole Millar, CLYPSO and Doolie in that time.

While his success has largely been confined to alternative radio to this point, Yorke's catchy pop vocals coupled with the understated production on 'Overdrive' may well see Kilter pick up some CHR additions this week.

His best performer to date is 'They Don't Know Us' at #75 on the TMN HOT 100.

"’Overdrive’ is a nod towards several of my earliest influences as an artist,” explains Kilter.

“I expanded on the Dilla bounce in the drums and bass with hyperactive synths, Yorke’s vocals and a whole lot of happy accidents all accumulating in a furious and futuristic samba.”
