TMN Tech Week 2020

Australian-born tech companies helping the music industry to solve significant challenges during the global health crisis will be a focus of TMN Tech week from next Monday.

Tech Week is The Music Network's annual content series dedicated to the thriving global music-tech sector, and for the first time will feature a daily livestream interview with key players.

The series includes talks with local founders Josh Simons (Vampr), Jacqui Louez Schoorl (Jaxsta), Jared Kristensen (Audience Republic) and Jeremiah Siemianow (Muso).

Each interview will reveal how these platforms have innovated and diversified during the pandemic, and explore how the founders view tech's role in supporting the industry.

Tech Week is presented in partnership with 7digital, with APAC boss James Priestley to join TMN editor Vivienne Kelly to discuss the rise of music within popular apps like TikTok.

Social platforms have ramped up their focus on the exploitation of music over the past 18 months, after a long list of new deals were brokered between tech giants and music rightsholders.

Consumers can’t log onto Instagram or TikTok, for example, without hearing new music, nostalgic hits, and songs which have taken on new life for a challenge or viral trend.
