US country music sensation Luke Combs has ascended to the top of the TMN Country Airplay Chart for the first time in his career.

‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’ — taken from Combs’ latest EP The Prequel — leapfrogs ‘God’s Country’, ending Blake Shelton's three week streak at the summit.

While Combs has just claimed his first airplay #1 in Australia, the singer-songwriter has been a mainstay on country radio since the release of his debut album This One’s For You in 2017.

Three singles from the album (‘When It Rains It Pours’, ‘She Got The Best Of Me’, ‘Beautiful Crazy’) peaked inside the Top 5, with the latter climbing to #2.

Combs' impact rate at Ausie radio is especially high with eight singles spread across one album and EP making an appearance on the chart.

Overall, This One’s For You has been a spectacular success for the 29-year-old North Carolina native.

Rising to #7 on the ARIA chart thanks to his headlining performance at CMC Rocks 2019, the album has also tallied 108 weeks and counting on the Billboard 200.
