The Kid LAROI has made US chart history after his Justin Bieber-assisted single 'Stay' officially hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 overnight.

Rising from #4 to #1 in its fourth week on the charts, 'Stay' becomes The Kid LAROI's first-ever US #1 single, making him the youngest-ever Australian artist to reach #1 on the Billboard charts.

The 17-year-old MC is the youngest Australian male solo artist to top the Hot 100 since Rick Springfield's 'Jessie's Girl' hit #1 in August 1981, and becomes the first-ever Indigenous Australian artist to achieve a US #1 single. It also marks Justin Bieber's eighth appearance on top of the US singles charts.

The Hot 100 #1 arrives off the back of The Kid LAROI's debut mixtape F*ck Love reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart last week.

In an ecstatic post to social media, the teenage hitmaker celebrated his back-to-back chart achievements, as well as revealing that he'd recently been forced into isolation after contracting COVID-19.

"WOAH. number fucking 1!!! first of all, thank you to every single one of you mfs for streaming, buying and supporting the fuck out of this record & thank you to my brother @justinbieber for being a part of this and going so hard for me constantly," LAROI wrote.

"This is not only a big moment for me, but a really big moment for Australia. growing up all I ever wanted to do was 'make it big' in America and show everyone what we have to offer.
