The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week Kardajala Kirridarra have risen to #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, whilst Paul Kelly has also climbed to #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart. 

Kardajala Kirridarra have ascended into #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the track ’Ngurra (Rain Song)’. Beatrice Lewis from the four-piece dropped into Lunch with Samantha Groth on FBi Radio to discuss how her work with Music NT led to her meeting the other women of Kardajala Kirridarra. She also spoke about the release and creation of their debut album, and learning the Mudburra dialect, the language which features on their debut. Kardajala Kirridarra, the debut album, features in PBS FM’s Top 10, FBi Radio’s New Music List, 2SER’s Servin’ Up and 4ZZZ’s Top 20, with ’Ngurra (Rain Song)’ also being included in SYN’s Sweet 16. Paul Kelly has moved into #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart with latest single ’Firewood and Candles’. Wet Lips have held onto #2 in the Amrap Metro Chart with ’See You Later’. Listen to the official audio for the shredding pub-rock track, as featured via Amrap pages on station websites including HFM in WA, 4ZZZ Brisbane, Edge Radio Hobart, as well as Yass FM in NSW and Triple R and 3MDR in VIC. Wet Lips, the debut self-titled LP from the Melbourne three-piece, was PBS FM’s Feature Album, SYN’s Aussie Album of the Week, and featured in 4ZZZ’s Top 20, Triple R’s Soundscapes and 2SER’s Servin’ Up. ’See You Later’ was included in Edge Radio’s New Music List, with additional airplay from FBi Radio, Sydney, Fraser Coast FM in QLD, 5 Triple Z in SA, 3MDR and OCR FM in VIC, as well as HFM and Voice of the Avon in WA.

Shane Nicholson has appeared in the Amrap Regional Chart for the fourth week running with ’Safe’ currently taking out #2. Deafcult’s debut album Auras was FBi Radio’s Album of the Week, PBS FM’s Breakfast Spread Feature Album and was also included in 4ZZZ’s Top 20. Casey Barnes debuts at #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart with ’The Way We Ride’.
