Guy Sebastian has landed at the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week.

T.R.U.T.H was released on October 16 through Sony Music Australia and is the singer's ninth studio album.

The new record is Sebastian's third #1 album in his career, following on from Just As I Am in 2003 and Armageddon in 2012. 'Choir', a single from the album, also won the 2019 ARIA Song of the Year.

To celebrate the achievement, Sony Music organised a surprise visit from the singer's parents, Ivan and Nellie Sebastian, who flew in from Adelaide. Sebastian hadn't seen his parents in seven months due to travel restrictions brought on by the pandemic.

"I still can’t believe that one of the most personal albums I have released has resonated with so many people," Sebastian said.

"It has been quite an extraordinary year for everyone, and I am really humbled that these songs have connected and helped along the way.

"Thank you to Denis Handlin, Pat Handlin and my Sony Music Family as well as Jen Fontaine and her Private Idaho team and everyone who has supported this album. I am forever grateful."

Sony Music chairman Denis Handlin added, "[Sebastian] has overcome a tremendous amount of adversity in recent times and his work ethic in the making and promoting of this album has been outstanding."

Sebastian will be touring T.R.U.T.H. around the country in November/December 2021. Check out the tour dates and venues here.

Other debuts on the chart this week include Skegss' 50 Push Ups For A Dollar at #4 and Eagles' Live From The Forum MMXVIII.
