Amrap Chart Wrap - Unique female artists top community radio charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provides a snapshot of what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees two remarkable and uncompromising Australian female artists take the top spots.

Courtney Barnett has topped the Amrap Metro Chart for the second week running with Depreston. The track is also going strong on the Amrap Regional Chart, up two places to #2 this week. Barnett’s uniquely Australian voice and lyrical nous has been grabbing community radio’s attention for years and this track is no exception. The music clip for Depreston continues to gain traction on station websites using Amrap Pages including here on FBi Radio and 2RRR Sydney, Edge Radio  Hobart, 4ZZZ Brisbane, RTR FM Perth and Triple R and 3MDR in Victoria. Barnett’s album ‘Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit’ scored more community radio feature album gongs last week, including on hometown station PBS.

Mojo Juju’s They Come and They Go scored #1 on the Amrap Regional Chart, up one place from last week. The track has also hung onto #7 on the Amrap Metro Chart for a second week. Mojo’s infectious voice and the sass and swagger of the track has grabbed airplay from a diverse range of community radio stations Australia wide including 4ZZZ Brisbane, Byron Bay FM,  2RRR, Eastside 89.7FM, 2BOB, TLCFM 100.3 and 2SEA  in NSW, 979 FM, Triple R and  3MDR  in VIC, 5GTR FM  in SA and Harvey Community Radio and 897FM Twin Cities and RTR FM in WA.

Love of Diagrams continue their solid run in the Amrap Metro Chart with Double Negative off the new record ‘Blast’, having picked up feature record status at stations across the country, including PBS in Melbourne. The no-nonsense track and lo-fi music clip continues to get airplay and attention on stations including Triple R, FBi Radio, Edge Radio Hobart and RTR FM.

Debuting at #8 on the Amrap Regional Chart is Two Lions with Heading Home. Inspired by the changing landscapes of Australia, the delightful Mullumbimby duo has also received airplay across regional stations including Eden Community Radio and 2AIR FM in NSW, Fraser Coast FM 107.5 and Noosa Community Radio in QLD, Sunbury Radio in VIC, Voice of the Avon in WA and 99.9 Voice FM in Ballarat. Two Lions performed the track live to air on Byron Bay FM last week alongside this preview video.

Also debuting at #8 on the Amrap Metro Chart is Friendships with the dark and primal When I Feel Like Killing I Murder. They’ve picked up rotation on various metro stations including FBi Radio in Sydney and Melbourne’s SYN.
