The music management community pitches "Michael's Rule," a live music campaign that its architects hope will give artists a much-needed lift.

"Without him there would not be an AAM and Support Act would be nowhere near the force that it has become," says John Watson.

Despite “the best efforts of his medical team,” reads a statement,” McMartin succumbed to his illness peacefully” on Easter Sunday.

"Thanks to the Hoodoo Gurus I have lived a life that I only otherwise could have dreamt of,” McMartin signs off.

Andrew Stone and Jane Slingo were among the winners circle at the 2023 AAM Awards, held Thursday (April 27) at the Crowbar in Sydney.

Without McMartin’s input, there would be no AAM Awards, and perhaps no trade body behind the annual celebration.
